Airsprung Mattress Construction
Airsprung Mattresses use a number of different spring support systems in order to utilize all possible comfort and support criterias. One of the most popular spring support systems Airsprung use in their mattresses in the Integra spring System. This is an open coil continuous spring system that due to a unique process in manufacturing prevents roll off and roll together symptoms usually associated with this type of spring system. This resilient spring is used in the lower end budget mattresses but has proved to be popular due to its value for money build quality.
The Poweredge spring unit is a slight update on the integra spring unit, again an open coil bonnell spring is used in the mattresses but a higher count of springs are used This is achieved by coiling the springs into a smaller diameter creating a firmer feel mattress. The spring system is then bordered with a heavy gauge wire to prevent any roll off.
Airsprungs own version of the bonnell spring is called the Duraspring. This mattress spring system uses a high tensile 13.5 gauge wire for increased performance and is used in the low to mid budget mattresses due to its good balance between comfort and support.
The Trizone spring system is Airsrungs latest spring system to the market. This 3 phase spring support system offers extra support in the centre lumbar region of the mattress meaning the user can get the best support exactly where they need it.
In my opinion the Duraspring is the best of Airsprungs open coil spring systems. The mattress evenly distributes the support head to toe while still offering a good level of comfort. Airsprung do a range of mattresses with this spring system each offering a variety of fillings that sit on top of the spring system so individual comfort requirements can be obtained. If your looking for a medium comfort feel then i would recommend the Enigma Mattress, a good quality mattress with the right amount of fillings and the duraspring system included.
